This is a beautiful National Historic Landmark located in gorgious downtown Jim Thorpe, nestled high up on the hill surrounded by lush vegetation. The victorian home was built by Asa Packer, the philanthropist, railroad mangate, and founder of the Lehigh University. Back in 1861, at the time of it's construction, the project cost $14,000 and took two years to build. Visitors and tourists can catch guided tours through the house now dedicated as a museum, where one can find beautiful victorian antique relics throughout the period-preserved home.
